Why convert JPG to SVG?

JPG is a raster format optimised for photographs — every resize re-samples pixels and loses detail. SVG describes the same image as scalable shapes, so it stays crisp on any screen, in any print size, on any laser cutter or CNC bed.

Use this tool when you need a JPG to scale up cleanly for a poster or T-shirt, when you want fewer colors for a stylised illustration, or when a downstream tool (Cricut, Glowforge, Figma, embroidery software) requires SVG.

FAQ

Can I really vectorize a photo?
Yes, but expect a stylised, posterized look — vectors approximate continuous tones. The photo preset increases color precision to keep things recognizable.
What if the JPG has noisy compression artifacts?
Increase the speckle filter (advanced controls coming soon) or pre-clean the image. Sketch preset works well on scanned line art with JPG noise.
Why is my SVG bigger than the JPG?
JPG is great for photos because of lossy compression. SVG describes shapes, so detailed photos can produce large files. Use logo preset for the smallest output.
Do you upload my JPG anywhere?
No. Tracing happens locally in a Web Worker. Open your network panel — you will see zero outbound requests for your image.
